The Best Self-Help Podcasts

I absolutely love listening to podcasts! I have a few favorite categories that I always tune into: Wellness/Self-Help, Moms, Business, Cannabis, and Entertainment (especially Bravo – don’t judge me!). In this blog post, I want to share my top picks for the best self-help podcasts.

1. On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty delivers meaningful and thought-provoking content. Through his unique storytelling abilities and insightful interviews with notable figures, Shetty offers a refreshing perspective on personal growth, mindfulness, and spirituality. The On Purpose podcast is one of the best self-help podcasts and a must-listen for those seeking inspiration and a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

This is my favorite episode of On Purpose with Jay Shetty. Listen below.

2. We Can Do Hard Things

I have been a huge admirer of Glennon Doyle for a while. Along with her wife, Abby Wambach and her sister Amanda Doyle, this podcast tackles challenging topics with grace and expertise. The show aims to explore the complexities of life and empower listeners to face difficult situations head-on. With each episode, I leave feeling more informed and inspired. This is one of the best self-help podcasts because it leaves me ready to take on whatever challenges life may bring.

3. You Need To Hear This With Nedra Tawwab

My therapist told me about Nedra. She is an author, relationship expert, therapist and podcaster. Her podcast delves deep into the intricacies of human connections. With a focus on setting healthy boundaries, improving relationships, and achieving peace of mind, this is one of the best self-help podcasts because it provides actionable advice and emotional support to her guests and callers.

Each week, Nedra addresses the specific concerns of a caller and offers practical guidance for navigating life’s challenges. Relationships can be difficult, but through her podcast, listeners can discover how to transform difficult relationships into positive connections, effectively communicate their needs, and elevate their communication skills.

My favorite episode is called “Be on the Journey of Maintaining Relationships.” Listen here:

4. The Peter Attia Drive

I first learned about Dr. Peter Attia on the Disney documentary with Chris Hemsworth, “Limitless.” I was intrigued by his life hacks to live a longer and happier life.

Dr. Attia has training from Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and the NIH, and on this podcast, he interviews leaders in their respective fields. This is one of the best self-help podcasts because of its range of topics such as health, performance, longevity, critical thinking, and the pursuit of excellence.

My favorite episode features James Clear and it’s about “Building and Changing Habits.” Check it out here:

5. Unlocking Us with Brene Brown

Who hasn’t heard of Brene Brown? She’s an amazing writer. I’ll never forget when this podcast started, the first day I followed on Spotify and I’ve been hooked. Brown’s podcast delves into the intricacies of human connection and vulnerability. Through her insightful discussions with guests from various fields, Brown offers valuable insights into the challenges and rewards of opening oneself up to others. This is one of the best self-help podcasts because it’s a valuable resource for anyone seeking to understand the complexities of relationships and personal growth.
